On March 1, a meeting of the Expert Council on the topic “Legislative support for a comprehensive partnership with African countries” was held in the Small Hall of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was represented by Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Ruslan Lesovik.

 The Expert Council on the development and support of comprehensive partnerships with African countries was created by order of the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin under the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Alexander Babakov. The main goal is to develop recommendations in the field of public policy for the development of relations with African countries.

  The Council is engaged in the analysis, systematization of regulations on the issues of legislative support for development and support of partnerships with African countries; promoting the development of parliamentary cooperation and public diplomacy; works with government and non-government organizations to expand international public relations.

 At the meeting, the interaction between Russia and Africa in a multipolar world, parliamentary diplomacy, assistance to Russian business in African countries, and Russia’s humanitarian mission were discussed.

 Ruslan Lesovik discussed current issues with the president of the regional public organization “Moscow and Muscovites”, member of the board of the Council for National Affairs under the Moscow Government, advisor on humanitarian issues of the Association for Economic Cooperation with African Countries, general secretary of the Eurasian-Bahrain Association of Friendship and Business Galli Monastyreva.
