Challenges of the Future to the Professions of the Present
An international conference dedicated to the social and labor sphere and social contexts of economic development was held at Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov. The meeting was held in a hybrid format. Along with the staff and students of the BSTU, representatives of Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly, Russian universities, scientific organizations, deputies of foreign countries and entrepreneurs took part in the conference via video link.
Senior lecturer Elena Zagorodnyuk read out the welcoming words of the Assembly Secretary General Andrey Belyaninov: "Today you are facing a serious challenge related to the transformation of the economy, digitalization of production and changes in requirements for professional competencies. We highly value cooperation with the university, which allows us to jointly develop innovative approaches to solving urgent problems of regional and international scale."
The conference discussed the formation of individual career trajectories, national systems of social protection for young specialists, labor migration as a factor in the adaptation of national labor markets in modern conditions. Foreign and Russian representatives shared their experiences.
"There is a tendency towards the growth of personal connections, which erases the boundaries of the state and helps modern society to bring closer and strengthen the socio-economic sphere of the entire world community. It is the person and his intellectual potential that are the most important value of all economies of the world," says Vice-Rector for International Affairs Ruslan Lesovik.
The meeting participants noted the importance of training a new generation of specialists who are capable of working effectively in a rapidly changing world. The discussion was conducted not only in Russian, but also in English.
“Today’s challenge requires us to carefully study our professions,” emphasized Yaser Allaham, Advisor to the Secretary General of the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly.
