Prospects for the development of international cooperation.

Rector of Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G.Shukhov, Sergey Glagolev  took part in the Congress of Rectors of Russia and Africa. The meeting was held in St. Petersburg within the framework of the II Summit and economic -humanitarian Forum "Russia -Africa".

Participation in the 2-days Summit was confirmed by 49 countries, 17 of them were represented by the heads of the states

"We will further provide assistance to our African friends in the development of not only higher education, but of general secondary and secondary vocational education as well. Training teachers, instructors and technical staff for secondary and vocational schools" - said the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Minister of science and higher education of Russia Valeriy Falkov told the participants of the Congress about the prospects of development of international inter-institutional cooperation and appealed to the university rectors from Russia and Africa for more active interaction in the sphere of higher education.

"Rectors carry a special responsibility for what is happening in our countries - both in Russia  and on the African continent, - as any university is involved into the work with the youth. I appeal to the rectors of Russian universities and your colleagues from Africa. Dear friends, you should rely on the existing agreements, go ahead and offer new formats for interaction"- concluded the Minister.

Let us mark, that currently over 34 thousand international students are studying at Russian universities. Representatives of different states are getting higher education in Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, including 516 students from 28 African states.
