The director of the state archive of the Serbian Autonomous Region Vojvodina Nebojsa Kuzmanovic visited Belgorod oblast with a support mission, within the framework of which he expressed solidarity with people living in Belgorod who are exposed to constant missile attacks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The press service of the Russian House in Belgrade reported this to the Parliamentary Newspaper.

According to them, “The director of the state archive of Vojvodina, Nebojsa Kuzmanovich, arrived at the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov (BSTU named after Shukhov) on a working visit. Serbia and Russia have always been allies and supported each other in difficult times. National mourning in Russia on March 24 coincided with the 25th anniversary of the start of NATO bombing of peaceful cities of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which lasted 78 days,”.

The importance of the visit at a difficult time for the city and the region was also pointed out by BSTU.

"Serbian Resource Center at  BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov created another bridge of Russian-Serbian friendship. It is important for us that the truth about terrorist attacks on civilians in Belgorod, Moscow, and Russia is known not only throughout the country, but also abroad. It is important for us to feel that we are not alone in our grief. It is essential to understand that they believe in us and our victory,” said  Victoria Ryapukhina, the director of the Institute of the Serbian Language of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

Both the students and BSTU academic staff with a visitor from Serbia, payed a tribute as a minute of silence in memory of all victims of terrorist attacks of the past years and today.

On March 26,  a Diorama Museum “The Bulge of Fire” in Belgorod hosted the opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to the memory of the victims of NATO’s aggression on Yugoslavia in 1999.

During the trip, agreements were reached on cooperation between the Vojvodina archive and Belgorod colleagues, the city Diorama Museum, as well as with BSTU and the Belgorod Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church.
