Strengthening international cooperation: business visit to Uzbekistan

At the beginning of September, Ruslan Lesovik, Vice-Rector for International Activities of Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, went on a working trip to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The delegation of the flagship university of Belgorod oblast was warmly welcomed in the cities of Fergana and Karshi. During the business visit, a meeting took place with long-time partners from the Fergana Polytechnic Institute. The memorandum of cooperation signed in 2018 was updated in connection with the appointment of a new rector, Uktam Samolov.

Cooperation with the Asian Technological University (Karshi) has initiated. Rector Lochin Rakhmonov introduced the vice-rector for international activities of BSTU to the campuses and territory of the university, and Ruslan Lesovik presented Belgorod Technological university, spoke about successful experience of interaction with international partners and answered questions of interest.

The result of the working trip was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, which opens up prospects for research, cultural and educational interaction. The plans are to organize a joint double degree program in construction areas of study.

“You have cement factories, and BSTU named after Shukhov will help to prepare qualified personnel for the development of the construction industry,” said Vice-Rector for International Affairs Ruslan Lesovik.

An important step in the development of partnership relations was the ceremony of awarding the title of an “Honorary Doctor”.

 At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable gifts and souvenirs.
