BSTU representatives visited the Republic of Belarus: results of a working trip to Grodnoc
The delegation of BSTU named after Shukhov headed by the rector Sergei Glagolev made a working visit to the city of Grodno of the Republic of Belarus. The purpose of the visit was to establish international relations and conclude a cooperation agreement.
In addition to the rector, the flagship university of the Belgorod region was represented by the vice-rector for international activities Ruslan Lesovik; director of the scientific and educational center "Digital Security and Anti-Corruption", associate professor of the department of sociology and management Marina Molchanova; head of the department of operation and organization of traffic Nikolay Zagorodniy; head of the department of construction and urban economy Lyudmila Suleimanova.
Shukhovites took part in a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus and the first anniversary of the opening of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Grodno. Let us recall that the center was opened on April 2, 2024. Here you can watch new Russian plays, films, attend a concert of modern Russian performers and exhibitions, and talk to experts in various fields. Much attention in the work of the Russian House is paid to youth cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the participants were greeted by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Grodno Feodosiy Vladyshevsky, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus Pyotr Frolov, and the head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Grodno Elena Litvishchenko. Participants of the ceremonial event were treated to a presentation video of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Grodno, a performance by Honored Artist of Russia Nina Shatskaya, a sand show "Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus" and a star show.
Another important point of the working trip was a visit to the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The universities signed a cooperation agreement, according to which they will conduct joint scientific research and events, develop educational courses and programs, organize classes for students of the partner university, etc. In addition, the rector of the Shukhov BSTU Sergei Glagolev took part in the XXXIII International scientific and practical conference of postgraduates, master's students and students "Physics of Condensed Matter", which was held at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. In his welcoming speech, Sergei Nikolaevich emphasized the high significance of the event and the importance of training scientific personnel.
The conference was organized in a hybrid format and brought together more than 90 young scientists. Participants presented current research in four sections: "Study of the molecular structure and properties of condensed matter", "Mathematical methods and computer modeling in condensed matter physics", "Instruments and experimental equipment", "Current issues in the methodology of studying condensed matter physics". Each section held a competition for the best report, the participants actively discussed the presented works. The heads of the sections noted the high level of scientific research and the interest of the audience. Based on the results of the conference, a collection of scientific articles will be published.
As part of the working program, the BSTU delegation headed by Sergei Glagolev held a business meeting with the director of the fire service museum in Grodno, colonel of the internal service Irina Kachan. A tour of the museum was held for Belgorod residents, which presented almost all stages of the development of the Belarusian fire and rescue service. The parties agreed to jointly write materials dedicated to the 80th anniversary of our common Great Victory.
