Representatives of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, headed by Rector Sergei Glagolev, shared their experience of patriotic education at the university.

BSTU launched the patriotic marathon - the day before, the university staff and students, including students from Turkmenistan, honored the memory of the fallen Soviet soldiers and laid flowers and wreaths at the only memorial sign in the country "Eternal Memory to the Turkmen Heroes Who Died in the Battles of the Kursk Bulge". Rector Sergey Glagolev, on behalf of the university and Belgorod residents, thanked the organizers for the invitation to join the marathon and emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and patriotic education of the youth of our multinational country.

Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and Youth Policy Irina Avilova spoke in detail about the work carried out at the university and presented the project "We Won Together", created on the initiative of students and graduates from the former CIS countries. The project is aimed at preserving and perpetuating the memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War and strengthening friendship between the peoples living in the post-Soviet space. In addition, it helps the younger generation realize the importance of unity in respect for history and working together for the benefit of the future.

State Duma Deputy Olga Pilipenko in her welcoming speech from the Public Support Headquarters of the Oryol Region thanked the residents of Belgorod for participating in the patriotic project, within the framework of which a ceremonial wreath-laying ceremony was held in the cities of Oryol, Belgorod and Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) at memorials symbolizing the feat of Soviet soldiers in the Great Patriotic War. Olga Pilipenko noted that this synchronous action is intended to emphasize the inseparable connection between the peoples who fought shoulder to shoulder during the Great Patriotic War, and to further strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding between the youth of Russia and Turkmenistan.

In the round table format, the participants of the "Patriotic Marathon "Oryol-Belgorod-Ashgabat: Our Common Frontier" discussed the implementation of the patriotic action and areas of further joint work.
