There is no someone else's sorrow or misfortune - unanimously decided foreign citizens studying at the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov and, without hesitation, from the first days they offered their help to the residents of the town of Shebekino, Belgorod oblast, Russia, who were forced to leave their hometown due to the permanent artillery shelling of civic buildings and dwelling houses from the side of Ukraine.

Now, when humanitarian supplies continue to arrive from all regions of Russia, it is especially necessary to respond quickly and provide assistance where necessary.

Students from the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America were united by the sense of responsiveness and indifference to the problems of people going through difficult times. The guys enthusiastically take on any job. They work in the center for the distribution of humanitarian aid, load and unload food, essentials, help people to settle down and establish an every-day life in a new place of living (make beds, move wheelchair users, bring food to people with limited mobility).

Next to foreign students there are always their mentors - lecturers of the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens and employees of the center for international education and cooperation.

Sahraoui Sofya came from Algeria to study at the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens. She learned that help was needed from the BSTU telegram channel for foreign students and immediately responded. Worked with her fellow-students in the center for the distribution of humanitarian aid. “Although it is not physically easy to do this kind of work, I am always happy to help. I was impressed by the number of volunteers in the center, both Russian and foreign. Now we are intensively preparing for the exams, but, nevertheless, I want to devote my time every day to help people in trouble, ”says Sophia.

Sofya's groupmate, student of Preparatory faculty from Syria Svaykat Maher also actively participates in activities to help Shebekino residents and believes that only together can one overcome difficulties and plans to devote his free time from exams to volunteering activity.

The Council of Students' National Communities of Foreign Countries demonstrated solidarity and organization, coordinated the collection of funds, necessary things and rapid explanatory work among compatriots. Hassan Ibrahim Kissan (Chad), Abouahmed Mohamed Adli Mohamed Elkelani Mohamed (Egypt), Mineev Alexander Andreevich (Kazakhstan), Abdukhalikov Ruslan (Kyrgyzstan), Vahdan Ahmed Arafa Mohamed Mahmud (Egypt) were the most active. Everyone agrees that together we are strong!
