An international conference on heat, gas supply and ventilation was held at BSTU named after V.G.Shukhov
An international conference on heat, gas supply and ventilation was held at Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Builder’s Day. The event was organized by the Department of Heat, Gas Supply and Ventilation at the Institute of Construction Engineering. Among the participants were scientists, academic staff members, postgraduate students, and undergraduates from Russia and China.
The conference took place in a hybrid format, with both in-person and remote (video-conferencing) participation. Presentations and academic discussions were conducted in Russian, English, and Chinese.
The scientific program for the first day focused on the issues related to industrial ventilation and dust control. Participants presented research on air pollution caused by suspended particles during coking processes, optimization of local exhaust ventilation for welding operations, the efficiency of suction hoods in the presence of upward air flow, and the development of devices for collecting dust from high-temperature gas streams. A significant portion of the presentations was contributed by researchers from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (China). Discussions also covered modern solutions in the fields of ventilation, air conditioning, heating, heat supply, gas supply, and water supply, as well as the application of alternative energy sources. Topics included enhancing the efficiency of heat pump systems through the use of solar energy, predictive diagnostics for heating systems, the integration of heat recovery units and heat pumps into swimming pool systems, the calculation of building heat balances, and the improvement of airflow regulators for aspiration (dust extraction) systems.
The conference was attended by representatives of scientific and educational organizations from Belgorod, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Yakutsk, Volgodonsk, Kursk, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Simferopol, and other Russian cities. Undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students presented the results of their research conducted under the guidance of their academic supervisors.
The conference brought together specialists working on the urgent issues in the field of engineering systems for buildings and industrial facilities, and served as a platform for the exchange of scientific findings between Russian and Chinese researchers.
