BSTU named after Shukhov at the First World Public Assembly

BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov participated in the 1st World Public Assembly, which took place in Moscow on September 20–21 and brought together leaders from over 150 countries. Organized by the Assembly of the Peoples of the World, the theme of the meeting was "A New World of Conscious Unity."

A Unique Platform for Discussion

A large-scale international humanitarian forum was held in conjunction with International Peace Day. This event provided a unique platform for developing concrete solutions for shaping a sustainable, just, and harmonious future in an era of global change.

The forum brought together over 4,000 public diplomacy leaders, civil society representatives, experts, and government officials. Among them were prominent descendants of historical figures, heads of international organizations, ministers, diplomats, scientists, astronauts, spiritual leaders, and mayors.

Participants

Distinguished guests of the World Public Assembly include representatives of public organizations and business leaders from various countries: Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities; Ali Nasser Mohammed, President of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen (1980-1986); Badran Adnan, Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (2005); Piao Yanfan, Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO; Ilkhom Nematov, Deputy Secretary-General of the CIS; Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus; Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Ilario Franco, Advisor to the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the UN; Rashid Alimov, SCO Secretary-General (2016-2018), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary; Rohi Malik Low, Deputy Chairman of the Global Parliament of Mayors, Mayor of Banjul, Gambia; Sabena Johannes, President and CEO of Afritrack Angola; Himadrish Suwan, Chairman of the Confederation of Young Indian Leaders and CEO of the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL).

Business Program

The business program included seven panel sessions and over 40 thematic platforms in key areas: public diplomacy, humanitarian modernization, values ​​of the new world, and spiritual unity.

The assembly included the International Media Forum "Media in the Service of Humanity," the youth forum "Generation Unity," the International Forum "Victorious Countries: the Lesson of World War II and Responsibility for Peace," the business forum "Social Responsibility of Business: Investing in a Common Future," the Congress of the World Organization of Writers (WOW), and the Eurasian Forum of National Cultures and Equestrian Traditions "Constellation of the First."

Prospects for International Cooperation

Acting Rector Sergey Glagolev and Vice Rector for International Affairs Ruslan Lesovik represented Belgorod Region flagship university. The delegation participated in the roundtable discussion "International Cooperation: Science and Education. Rectors' Meeting" and the panel session "International Interaction in Science and Education as a Factor in Sustainable Development."

A key event was the meeting of rectors on the sidelines of the World Peoples' Assembly. It brought together representatives of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, experts, and university representatives from more than 40 countries. Participants discussed the organization of an international forum of universities from partner countries of the World Peoples' Assembly, the creation of the World Rectors' Council, the development of an international university ranking system, and scientific and educational cooperation.
