Expanding cooperation with Chinese universities and enterprises
A delegation from BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, led by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Ruslan Lesovik, visited Linyi, China, from November 18–20. The purpose of the trip was to strengthen partnership and identify new areas of cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation visited Linyi University, a partner of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. At a meeting with Vice-Rector Chi Fuan, Professor and Vice-Rector Ruslan Lesovik was presented with a certificate of appreciation for strengthening international ties between the universities. A letter of appreciation for active participation in developing cooperation between the universities was also presented to Svetlana Lesovaya, Deputy Director of the BSTU Center for International Education and Cooperation.
At the meeting were Xu Zhenpeng, Associate Professor of the Department of World Economy and Financial Management at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, and Xu Ping, General Director of the educational company "Beijing YuanGuan," who proposed their ideas for further cooperation between the two universities. The Chinese side was represented by Jiang Zhaozi, Director of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation; Sun Guodong, Deputy Director of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation; Wu Zuofeng, Dean of the School of Business; Zhu Dengyuan, Dean of the Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture; Li Daoyong, Acting Dean of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Manufacturing; and Wang Xiaoyan, Director of the Cooperation Department of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation.
A working meeting was organized for BSTU delegates with representatives of Linyi University's School of Business. During the meeting, plans were outlined for the launch of a joint educational program based on the "2+2" model in the undergraduate program "Global Economy," and the results of the existing joint educational program based on the "1+1" model in the graduate program "International Business" were summarized.
Another significant event was a meeting with the leadership and staff of the School of Mechanics and Automotive Engineering, where a joint educational program in the undergraduate program "Machinery Building" is being successfully implemented. The parties discussed future collaboration. Ruslan Lesovik and BSTU representatives also met with Chinese students and answered all their questions.
The visit resulted in a review of the current programs and a discussion of plans for launching new ones.
BSTU delegation also participated in the opening ceremony of a workstation for experts and academics, organized by the Chengfa Education Group and the Linyi Talent Work Group. The successful completion of this ceremony marks a major breakthrough in deepening international cooperation in education and culture, attracting high-quality intellectual resources, providing a powerful impulse to the modernization of Linyi industry, advancing the internationalization of education, and elevating BSTU to a fundamentally new level of cooperation.
