International cooperation among the regional universities was discussed at BSTU named after Shukhov.

A working meeting of the Commission on International Cooperation of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in Belgorod oblast took place at Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov (BSTU). The participants reviewed the work of the Commission over the preceding period and outlined key areas of activity for the coming years.

One of the main issues of the agenda was the election of the Commission leadership for the period 2026–2030. The Chairman of the Commission, Ruslan Lesovik—Vice-Rector for International Affairs at BSTU—presented a summary of activities for the past five years and highlighted the effectiveness of the joint work.

For the whole period of the work of the Commission (2021–2026),the representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo, Rospotrebnadzor, the Migration Department of the Regional Interior Ministry, and the Russian Foreign Ministry, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin and experts from Egypt were involved in the discussions.

Following the meeting, the participants unanimously supported the candidacy of Ruslan Lesovik and extended his term as a Chairperson of the Commission on International Cooperation until 2030.

In addition, membership commission was renewed and approved, and the work plan for 2026–2027 academic year was adopted. Specific areas of activity will focus on further developing international engagement and strengthening cooperation between universities in Belgorod oblast and foreign partners.
