Vice-Rector for International Affairs at the Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University held a meeting on support for international students.
The regular meeting of the International Cooperation Commission of the Council of Rectors of Belgorod Region Universities was held at Belgorod State University. The meeting was chaired by Ruslan Lesovik, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, Professor, and Doctor of Technical Sciences.
The key item on the agenda was a report by Nikolai Tsybulya, Vice-Rector and Director of the International Cooperation Department at Belgorod State University, titled "On the Upcoming Graduation of Foreign Citizens and the Role of the University in Legalizing the Residence of International Graduates in Belgorod Region." The presentation addressed issues of employment for international graduates, their social support, and specific character of regulating their migration status. Following the report, the commission members discussed the practical aspects of implementing these areas.
The meeting was attended by an invited expert, Vera Skorobogatova, Candidate of legal sciences, a leading expert in international education, and the head of the Center for a New Model of Higher Education at the federal institution "Sociocenter." She presented a presentation titled "University International Activities in Current Conditions: Legalization and Recognition of Foreign Education," in which she highlighted the key challenges of education exports related to the recognition and legalization of foreign education documents and/or foreign qualifications when organizing admissions to Russian universities.
Finally, the meeting participants discussed the topic "From Memoranda of Intent to Real Assets: Auditing and Resuscitating Ineffective Partnerships." During the discussion, the commission members shared experiences and approaches to improving the effectiveness of international cooperation.
