Vice-Rector of the Belgorod State Technological University named after A.I. Shukhov took part in a meeting of the Association of Universities

A meeting of the Association of Universities of Central Russia was held at Ivanovo State University (IvSU). The event brought together the heads of leading universities, as well as representatives of the legislative and executive branches. V.G. Shukhov BSTU was represented by its Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Ruslan Lesovik.

Welcoming remarks were addressed by State Duma Deputy Olga Pilipenko, Director of the Ivanovo Region Department of Education and Science Anton Khapalov, Deputy Chairman of the Ivanovo Regional Duma Alexander Fomin, and Director of the Scientific and Educational Policy Expert and Analytical Center Evgeny Szhenov.

Key points on the meeting agenda were presented by Olga Pilipenko and Alexey Malygin, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Ivanovo Region Universities and Rector of Ivanovo State University. In his report, A. Malygin outlined the university experience in integrating the humanities into higher education. Particular attention was paid to cooperation with student youth organizations. Participants also discussed prospects for collaboration with the Russian Student Brigades, led by Andrey Vatulin, Commander of the Central Federal District Headquarters.

The meeting also included the election of a new head of the Association of Universities of Central Russia. Valery Egorushkin, Rector of the Bryansk State University of Engineering and Technology, has been appointed as an authorized head. The new head of the association will be responsible for developing further development strategy of the organization. The Association of Universities of Central Russia is a public, non-profit organization operating within the Russian Union of Rectors, the goal being to strengthen and develop inter-university cooperation and collaboration at the interregional level.
