An international student from BSTU attended the International Youth Festival.

 Shansi Neiki Vedjing, a student at the V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University, participated in the International Youth Festival held in Yekaterinburg from September 11 to 17, 2026. The event brought together 10,000 young people from 191 countries.

Throughout the festival, participants were familiarized with the cultures of various nations, interacted with one another, and current issues of concern to the youth of today.

Shansi Neiki Vedjing represented the culture of her home country and took part in discussions, workshops, and cultural activities. For the BSTU student, the festival offered an opportunity to meet representatives from different countries and share information about her university.

"It is a great honor for me to be here and represent my culture and my university. I have already met young people from various countries and realized that things which unite us are much more than things which divide us. Here, it is crucial to speak with one another in a sincere and respectful way," shared Shansi Neiki Wedjing.

One of the most memorable aspects of the event for the student was the sessions dedicated to intercultural dialogue.

"I want to leave the festival not only with new knowledge but also with friends from all over the world. That is what true people-to-people diplomacy is all about," she noted.

According to Shansi Neiki Wedjing, participating in the festival helped her gain a better understanding of Russia and Russian youth. She plans to use the experience she has gained for further interaction with people from diverse countries and cultures.
