Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov implements a double degree program together with Asia's largest Linyi University (Linyi, China) for students in specialties related to machinery manufacturing. This opens up new opportunities for all participants: Chinese students will be able to obtain a double degree diploma and do internships in Russian companies, and Belgorod lecturers will have the opportunity to personally evaluate the organization of the educational process at a foreign university.

In 2023, associate professors and candidates of technical sciences Igor Gvozdevsky, Elena Shopina, Lyubov Denisova and others worked at Linyi University.

Now in the higher educational institution of the city of Linyi classes are taught by: Professor, Doctor of Philosophy Vladislav Sheleketa; Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Alexey Shatalov; faculty members Alexey Pogorelov, Natalya Larionenko, Valeria Zagoveneva.

Under the guidance of Russian lecturers, first-year Chinese students study the history of Russian culture and oral Russian in the spring semester. This is a good way to learn more about another culture and understand it better. Second-year students are taught a scientific style of speech, a practical course in the Russian language, the theory of mechanisms and machines, electrical engineering and electronics.

Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the BSTU Transport and Technology Institute Alexey Shatalov has already conducted the first classes in the discipline “Theory of Mechanisms and Machines.” There are things that really surprised him.

“They usually have 100% attendance in classes. Our students have a lot to learn. Classes are conducted in modern buildings. The groups are large, 44 people each, but they can easily be accommodated in the training areas. The classroom can also accommodate subgroups of 7-9 people. Each of them will have its own screen. For the lecturer there is a computer, two multimedia screens, regular boards with chalk and markers. There are microphones throughout the large classroom,” noted Alexey Shatalov.

The campus of Linyi University is larger than the campus of BSTU. Students live in dormitories and travel by electric bicycles.

There is, of course, a language barrier, but each student has an electronic translator that translates in real time.

“I also installed a similar program for myself, which sometimes helps a lot. And if our cooperation is long-term, then we can learn Chinese for this,” said Alexey Vyacheslavovich.

There are still many interesting activities and new discoveries ahead, and everyone - both students and teachers - is looking forward to them.
