Photo exhibition "Serbia and Belarus"
An opening ceremony of the photo exhibition within the framework of the educational socio-cultural project "Serbia, Belarus and Russia. Quiet Contemplation" took place on October 21 in the central hall of the main building of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The author of the exhibition is a guest from Belarus, Alena Rusanova-Lyubashevskaya.
As a tribute to the strong cultural and spiritual ties of the three fraternal Slavic peoples, the guests were greeted by three girls in Russian, Serbian and Belarusian traditional costumes. The welcoming speech was given by the director of the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications of the BSTU named after Shukhov Victoria Ryapukhina. Not only students and employees of the university, but also city residents came to the opening of the photo exhibition. Among the honored guests was the rector of the Belgorod Orthodox Theological Seminary, Archpriest Alexei Kurenkov.
The author of the exhibition, Alena Rusanova-Lyubashevskaya, calls herself a lecturer with a visual synopsis. She takes photos on a mobile phone. The exhibition presents collages of amateur photos with the author's text, which are arranged thematically by the cities of Serbia and Belarus: "Author's Word", "Belgrade - the Capital of Serbia", "Novi Sad - the Cultural Capital of Europe", "Orthodox Serbia", "Landscapes of Serbia", "Minsk - the Capital of Belarus" and others.
The photos presented to the viewers are a mirror of the pictures of history, culture and society. The author has already visited Minsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaliningrad, Izhevsk, Ivanovo and Lipetsk regions with her traveling exhibition. Alena Rusanova-Lyubashevskaya noted that her hometown in Belarus is connected with Belgorod by Shukhov’s water tower, which is located in Borisov. In addition, the author invited everyone to learn more about her self-sacrificing photo project, exchange opinions and discuss current issues of public diplomacy at a round table, which will be held on October 25 at the university's "Boiling Point".
