Rector Sergei Glagolev took part in the Fifth Forum of the Association of Universities

On January 25, the Fifth Forum of the Association of Universities of Russia and Belarus started at Lomonosov Moscow State University. The rector of BSTU named after Shukhov Sergei Glagolev took part in it. The meeting was organized by Moscow State University, the Russian Union of Rectors and the Belarusian Republican Council of Rectors.

 The two-day forum brought together representatives of universities, scientific societies, ministries and departments of Russia and Belarus. The main tasks are to consider priority areas of cooperation in the field of science, personnel training, joint educational programs, mutually beneficial use of the potential of universities, cooperation within the EAEU, youth and other areas of scientific and educational interaction between the two countries.

As part of the Fifth Forum of the Association of Universities, a plenary session was held, moderated by the President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician Viktor Sadovnichy and Chairman of the Belarusian Republican Council of Rectors, Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics, Professor Vadim Bogush.

Welcoming words were heard from the honored guests. The forum participants were addressed by State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky, First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Bakhanovich, Member of the Board (Minister) for Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Nazarenko, Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Denis Trefilov.

Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Liliya Gumerova greeted the forum participants in a video message. Welcoming words from the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mikhail Myasnikovich, and the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Sergei Lebedev, were also read out.

Viktor Sadovnichy spoke about the most important projects in Russian education and the interaction between domestic and Belarusian universities. The forum opens up great prospects for this. In particular, it is planned to sign a number of documents on cooperation within the framework of the forum. “I hope that as a result of the forum, many new Russian-Belarusian projects are ahead,” emphasized Viktor Sadovnichy.
