Forum of Rectors of Russian and DPRK Universities: Cooperation in Education
Sergei Glagolev took part in the First Forum of Rectors of Russian universities and universities of Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which was held on May 21 in Vladivostok at the Far Eastern Federal University. More than 70 heads of leading universities of the two countries took part in the large-scale event.
The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova and the head of the DPRK delegation was Deputy Minister of Education Lee Chak Sin.
“In recent years, relations between Russia and the DPRK have reached a qualitatively new level of trust and cooperation. This is confirmed by regular interaction at the highest and high levels. I hope that the forum will become a regular and working platform for universities in our countries,” Olga Petrova said in her welcoming speech.
During the plenary session, the forum participants considered pressing issues in the field of international education, scientific research and academic mobility. The main issues of discussion were the prospects for cooperation, the implementation of joint educational and research projects, as well as the expansion of student and academic staff exchange programs.
Sergei Glagolev gave a report at the panel session "Training personnel in the field of information technology - a factor in economic modernization". The forum is designed to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and lay the foundation for new joint initiatives in the interests of future generations.
